Read each product on its own terms. A booking entry describes one custody event. A court file describes one prosecution. A BCI history groups fingerprint-supported arrest cycles and dispositions received from Utah agencies. Differences may reflect timing, revised charges, or a disposition that has not yet matched the arrest cycle.

Do not read “disposed” as a synonym for convicted. It means the court closed the matter procedurally. Open the charge-level entries and obtain the signed judgment when the exact outcome matters.

Utah agencies ordinarily respond within ten business days, or five business days when the requester establishes the required public-benefit basis. Ask for segregable public portions and the legal basis for anything withheld.

Restricted, Sealed & Expunged Records
Expungement seals qualifying Utah government records from ordinary access. It does not force an independent news publisher to remove an old report. Adult felony and class A supervision is state-run through Utah Department of Corrections Adult Probation and Parole. Region 6 in Price serves Emery County, Carbon County, and eastern Wayne County. The population figures identify the required city guides, but they do not create city-level crime rates. Utah's official report supplies one ECSO countywide row for all three communities.
Reading Emery County Crime Data
The official 2024 Crime in Utah report gives one ECSO countywide row rather than separate data for Huntington, Castle Dale, or Ferron. It lists 323 total NIBRS offenses across crimes against persons, property, and society for a served population of 10,360. Those are reported offenses, not a list of people arrested or convicted. The 2022 report shows no ECSO submission, so a simple two-year trend would be misleading.
FY2023 court statistics add another caution. Emery recorded 83 state-felony filings and 114 dispositions. A disposition can close a case filed in an earlier period, so more dispositions than new filings is not an error and does not mean 114 people were convicted. Use court counts to understand workload, then verify each case through its own docket. The filing table is a court measure, not a complete criminal-history index, booking total, or measure of guilt.
